He was in the hospital for months, without compensation for a work injury, and because of this eye damage, his father became semi-blind in his left eye, and was unable to find work. Ren Yi Chuan’s mother suffers from chronic pain due to working long hours in the fields, and alongside the school fees for Ren Yi Chuan and his brother, the pressure upon this family was suffocating.
This year, Sheen Hok was able to help and donate money for students in Sichuan Tongjiang Second Middle School through rainbow village. After receiving financial support, Ren Yi Chuan’s first thought was to give the money to his parents, to allow his parents who were constantly worrying about money to feel relieved. Ren Yi Chuan, who only returns homme once a month, feels heartbroken over the weary and tired faces of his parents, and does his best to help with chores and farming as soon as he finishes his homework.
